UMA GRANDE PERDA • A BIG LOSS

POR • Hoje pela manhã a fotografia no Brasil e fora dele perdeu muito. Ficamos bastante abalados com a notícia do falecimento daquele que foi um grande visionário e batalhador em defesa da profissionalização e qualificação dos fotógrafos em nosso país, Carlos Dreher Mesquita. Sua personalidade marcante e suas provocações bem colocadas foram responsáveis por pequenas (e grandes) revoluções em estúdios e no mercado fotográfico nacional.

Muito do que acontece hoje dentro da RAP Photodesign foi inspirado e impulsionado por estas provocações, cuja intenção não era outra se não abrir os olhos para um horizonte, bem mais amplo e iluminado do que podemos observar em um primeiro momento.

Nossa palestra no Congresso Fotografar, no próximo dia 18 de abril é, em parte, fruto da nossa resposta aos conceitos difundidos pelo Carlos e pela revista que ele fundou e fez crescer, a FHOX. Lamentamos muito termos que realizar nossa apresentação sem o brilho da presença dele, mas nos confortamos com a certeza de que ele estará lá, sim, ainda que em espírito.

Ao nosso amigo que se foi, desejamos uma jornada de paz e harmonia e que continue a nos inspirar e instigar de onde estiver e aos parentes e amigos que ficam, um grande abraço e que continuemos juntos a construção do que o Carlos começou e manteve com tanto talento e sinceridade.

ENG • Today at morning Photography in Brazil and outside it lost a lot. We became very upset with the news about the passing away of a great visionary and fighter in the defense of the profissionalization and qualification of the photographers in our country, Carlos Dreher Mesquita. His remarkable personality and his well placed provocations were responsible for little (and big) revolutions inside studios and the Brazilian photographic market.

A lot of what happens today inside RAP Photodesign was inspired and propeled by these provocations, and intention was nothing but open the eyes to a new horizon, much wider and shiny that we can visualize at first sight.

Our speech at the Fotografar Congress in April 18^th is, in part, a consequence of our answer to the concepts publicized by Carlos and the magazine he founded and raised, the FHOX magazine. We lament a lot to have to do our presentation without the bright of his presence, but at the same time we are comforted with the certainty that he will be there, yes, in spirit.

To our friend that is gone, we wish you a peaceful and harmonious journey and may you continue to inspire ans instigate us from wherever you are and to the friends and relatives that stayed, a big hug and may we, together, continue the construction of what Carlos started and maintained with so much talent and sincerity.
